Transformations is a skilled team of specialist designer/decorators based
in Clapham headed by two women from Yorkshire and Tipperary: Viv Howard and
Mary Guidera. The opposite of the cool designer image the two talented women
aim to be friendly and approachable and place emphasis on listening to the
clients needs.
'We can offer inspirational ideas and suggestions if the client wants to
take them, but our aim is not to impose our own egos but to be a channel for
the clients vision '
Viv Howard has an arts background: she trained in Fine Art and has
a B.A. Hons in Painting and Printmaking. She worked in computer graphics specialising
in graphics for children's CD Roms and animations. Her work on Arion and the
Dolphin, an animation screened on channel 4, was inspiration for a a series
of underwater murals. She then to trained at the National Design Academy and
achieved an NVQ 3 in Specialist Paint Finishes and holds an NVQ 2 in Painting
and Decorating. She has worked on private and public commissions for hospitals
and Youth Centres around the country in England and Spain.
Mary Guidera holds an NVQ 2 in both Specialist Paint Finishes and Painting and Decorating. An outstanding student she won the Nitromors Henkel award for Painting and Decorating and a merit for her Special Paint finishes. She has extensive experience of producing paint finishes in homes restaurants antique shops and therapy centres throughout London and abroad.
Viv and Mary met on their first day at college studying Painting and Decorating
where Viv was hoping to find a business partner, and they have been inseparable
ever since. Transformations is a a great combination of Mary's organisation
skills, speed of operation and efficiency and Viv's creativity and attention
to detail. Both put the clients needs top of the list of priorities and offer
a professional service at reasonable rates.
Clients they have worked for include Christopher Hodsall Madam Tussauds and
Bharti Vias.
